Once again, October brings an amazing opportunity to attend the Portland SQL Saturday event. If you have never attended, you owe it to yourself to check it out. This all day FREE event provides over sixty training sessions covering a broad range of topics relating to Microsoft’s data platform. Event speakers are truly world class, coming to Portland from all over the country and abroad. The event will typically draw over 400 attendees but capacity is limited. If you have not registered, you will want to do so soon to ensure you will get in. Register here.
Given my passion for Power BI, I couldn’t resist exposing the SQL Saturday event data in Power BI.
I will be speaking for a couple of sessions at SQL Saturday this year:
- Lightning Talk on Using Content Packs in Power BI to Simplify Content Management
- Power BI Dashboard in an Hour (Lunch Session)
Related to SQL Saturday, you may also be interested in the 2016 SQL Mastery Event to be held on Friday, October 21st. This is a full day of deep dive training. CSG Pro consultants Rachel Dyer and Brian Grant will be teaming up with Paul Turley to host the Mastering Power BI Solutionscourse. Space is limited and will likely sell out. Register ASAP to reserve your seat.
In years past, I have been an attendee of SQL Saturday. This year, at the urging of Paul Turley, I stepped up to help out as a member of the organizing committee. Having experienced how the sausage is made, my respect and appreciation for the veteran organizers of this event is huge. Thanks to Arnie Roland, Vern Rabe, Paul Turley and Jeff Honsowitz for their tireless dedication to serving our local community, and for making this event happen year after year! You may know Arnie, Vern and Paul from the great work they with the Oregon SQL group.
CSG Pro is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the event this year. Please stop by our table at event, we’d love to meet and get to know you!
