Infinity Rehab: Advancing Rehabilitation Practice with Automated Dashboards on the Skypoint AI Platform

Infinity Rehab

Infinity Rehab is a leading rehabilitation provider committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, grounded in an evidence-based approach.

After spinning off from their parent company, Infinity Rehab needed to rebuild their IT infrastructure and data pipelines so they could regain visibility of crucial insights needed for clinical decision-making. Skypoint helped Infinity Rehab restore and enhance their data capabilities on the Skypoint AI Platform (AIP), ultimately improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

There’s enough science in rehabilitation to say there are certain things we absolutely should do for patients. But the literature also shows it takes 17 years to close the gap between what science knows and what’s implemented in practice. We’re trying to close that gap.

Severed Data Pipelines Stopped the Flow of Critical Patient Data

Before partnering with Skypoint, Infinity Rehab relied on their parent company for all IT support, including business intelligence and data analytics. When they separated, Infinity Rehab had to rebuild their entire data infrastructure from scratch with new data sources.

One of the largest challenges Infinity Rehab faced was regaining access to critical clinical performance dashboards. While their new EMR system provided operational insights, it was not designed to support the deep clinical analysis that Infinity Rehab uniquely practices.

As a result, important metrics measuring patient mobility and rehabilitation progress were difficult to track and assess, and clinicians were left to manually pull information from disparate sources to make sense of patient progress.

Every EMR developer makes assumptions about what data we should be looking at. So, the standard reporting that’s available to us is challenging sometimes because it wasn’t built for the way we wanted to work.

Rebuilding and Enhancing Data Capabilities with Skypoint

Infinity Rehab considered multiple options to restore their IT capabilities, including bringing data management in-house. Ultimately, they chose Skypoint for its ability to rapidly restore their analytics while also introducing new AI-driven capabilities with the Skypoint AIP.

Skypoint helped Infinity Rehab implement and customize new dashboards that visualized key performance metrics, allowing them to monitor strong predictors of patient outcomes such as gait speed and mobility assessments.

As a result of the improved reporting capabilities provided by Skypoint, Infinity Rehab’s clinicians could now adjust treatments in real time. Further, Infinity Rehab could also engage more effectively with payers by demonstrating the value of their approach and advocating for evidence-based rehabilitation practices.

The usual metrics can tell you if a patient can go home, but not how likely they are to stay there. We’re interested in not just a successful discharge, but also a decreased risk for an adverse event.

Building a Better Future for Rehabilitation with Evidence-Based Care

By partnering with Skypoint, Infinity Rehab successfully re-established and improved their data analytics capabilities. They can now track patient progress more effectively, optimize care delivery longitudinally, and make data-driven decisions that enhance rehabilitation outcomes.

With a strong foundation in place, Infinity Rehab is eager to integrate AI-powered tools through its partnership with Skypoint, further strengthening its position as an innovator and leader in the rehabilitation industry.

I interviewed two or three other companies and went through our own little RFP process. What tipped the scale for me was that 1) Skypoint could reestablish and even improve on the static dashboard reporting we had before, and 2) Skypoint can help us take advantage of generative AI and other cutting-edge AI capabilities. We ended up choosing Skypoint, and I’m glad I did. It’s worked out well.
