Dueling Current Rows: Shootout at the OKPI Corral

Play Video

Stay up to date with the latest customer data news, expert guidance, and resources.

Though usually the result of a mistake rather than an act of DAX genius, it is entirely possible to have not one, but two “Current Rows” active at the same time. Often times people won’t even know they’ve done it till they go to Revise the filters and get results that are utterly baffling to them.

In this video Brian Grant is going to walk you through what happens when Current Row Filtering (Context Transitions) runs not just into two Current Rows, but two Current Rows that disagree with each other. In the process he will give you a more technically sophisticated way to think about The Current Rows (Row Context) in the world of DAX and once again illuminate just how elegant and simple the whole language actually is.
